Fj camo Tan and Green South African vets son Ok fresh out of the woodwork form a South African Vets son.........vets son Johann De Jager funny a german name form South Africa anyway......His dad fought with the British 8th army in what had to be the 1st South African inft division formed 1940 or the only other SA division the 2ed South African Inft division only 2 South African divisions in N Africa . Both divisions fought with the British 8th army till the end of the 2ed El Alamein battle when the to units were disbanded in 43 and formed the 6th armored division which went on to Italy after extensive training. According to Johann the son of the vet his father fought in the battle of El Alamein ....which makes sense with what I have read...The 1st and 2ed S African inf divisions were placed a little north of the middle of the line that ran North and South through Egypt form the Med sea to the Qattara Depression just west of El Alamein. They were sent to clear mines and push south west as a diversion during the end phase of the battle to keep Rommel's AK from going to its Left flank or North..... The S Africans took a lot of losses around the end of Oct....then the tide turned.

Heer Medic Soldbuch grouping
Soldbuch with war crimes Soldbuch of Josef Moser, born 05 September 1905. The soldbuch was started 29 January 1944. He was initially assigned to Grenadier Reserve Battalion199 in Bad Reichenhall and he was listed as a Grenadier. That designation was later crossed out and changed to Kanonier. Entries in the Soldbuch indicate that on 21 April 1944 he was with Werfer Reserve and Training Battalion 4. On 29 September 1944 he was still with that same unit. On page 4 his field units are listed as 1945 with Heavy Werfer Regiment 22 4th Batterie, and later with the same regiment, but with 5th Batterie. Heavy Regiment 22 was set up in February 1945, so I would assume this Kanonier was assigned to the new unit during its set up in February 1945. It was immediately deployed to the Saar Palatinate and assigned to the Volks Werfer Brigade 18 under the 1st Army. This is where this Soldbuch gets really interesting. My research into the Heavy Werfer Regiment 22 lead me to an incident I had never heard of. In late April 1945 the regiment had broken out and was traveling through Bavaria. On April 27 and 28, 1945 the Bavarian Freedom Action group (FAB) declared Nazi rule over and basically staged a revolt to try to end any more loss of life and destruction in the Bavarian area. The so called Freiheitsaktion Bayern occurred just when the Heavy Werfer Regiment 22 was traveling in the immediate area of Penzberg in Bavaria. They assisted in putting down this "revolt" in Penzberg with a vengeance. Called the Penzberg Mordnacht the regiment either hung or shot 14 men and 2 women. On June 14, 1948 the commander of the regiment, Obersleutnant Berthold Ohm, was convicted of war crimes and sentenced to 15 years. A Batterie chief and a battalion commander were also charged but were acquitted. I've no doubt this man was there and always wondered what part he did or didn't play. Kurt was an artilleryman who saw extensive service as a Flak crewman with the elite Hermann Göring Division. During his service, Kurt was awarded the Black Wound Badge from injuries sustained in Salerno during fighting in 1943. The Soldbuch was researched by a previous collector and that information is included in printed form (shown in the photos).
#MA5 Sanitäts Obergefreiter Ernst Scharberger (WIA) Fallshirm-Panzer-Division 1 Hermann Göring Original WWII German Soldbuch that belonged to Sanitäts Obergefreiter Ernst Scharberger Fallshirm-Panzer-Division 1 Hermann Göring. Having seen extensive service, Ernst Scharberger also received several awards during Crimean defensive battles, the Iron Cross 2nd class, and Wound Badge in black. #MA8 Kanonier Rudolf Kosa, KIA, Fallshirm-Panzer-Division 2 Hermann Göring Original WWII German Soldbuch grouping that belonged to Kanonier Rudolf Kosa, who was killed in action serving with Fallshirm-Panzer-Division 2 Hermann Göring. The Soldbuch grouping includes the original Verwundete (Wound card). The Soldbuch was researched by a previous collector and that information is included in printed form (shown in the photos).
#MA13 Unteroffizier Rudolf Haase, WIA, EKII, Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 1 Hermann Göring Bodyguard Unit Original WWII German Soldbuch that belonged to Unteroffizier Rudolf Haase Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 1 Hermann Göring, assigned to 7kp. / Begleit-Battalion-Reichsmarshal (Bodyguard unit). Rudolf was wounded in action, and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class as well as Silver Wound Badge. The Soldbuch itself is in well carried condition, and it’s a nice bonus that two photos are included with this lot.
